Distance of the tow truck
The distance your vehicle needs to be towed is the crucial factor affecting the price. Most tow truck companies in Ireland charge a base hook-up fee and then an additional rate per km. The longer the distance, the higher the overall cost.

Basic hook-up fees
The first charge applied for connecting your car to the tow truck. This flat rate covers the labour of securing your car and the use of towing equipment, it does not include transport to the destination.

Per-km towing rates
In addition to the base fee, a per-km rate applies for transporting your car from the pickup point to the destination. The rate varies by the type of towing service required.

What to expect when you have a car breakdown
Remember that the following VAT must be added to the price, and the final cost also includes the truck travel and return.
